8 April - Mangal Pandey has been an inspirational figure for all Indians since his heroics in the mutiny against British East India company which later widespread and became the great rebellion of 1857. The greasing of bullets with cow and pig fat was the reason behind this unrest as it was offensive to both Hindu and Muslim soldiers - Mythical India

8 April - The day when Bhagat Singh and Batukeshwar Dutt protested against the draconian  law (Defence of India Act) which would have granted immense powers in the hands of British police. To grab the attention of world media, the members of Hindustan Socialist Republican Union, hurled bombs in the Central Legislative assembly where the law was being passed. After throwing the bombs in, the duo stood there shouting slogan 'Inquilaab Zindabad' before being arrested. A trial sentenced both to Life Imprisonment in cellular jail at Andaman and Nicobar islands - Mythical India

8 April - Birthday of Indian composer, music director and singer Amit Trivedi. He started as Jingle composer and worked in theaters before making his debut in movie Aamir. His shot to fame was his critically acclaimed work in the cult movie Dev D.  It won him several accolades including the first National Film Award for Best music direction. Since then, the musician has not looked back delivering hit compositions one after another - Mythical India

7 April - Birthday of Indian actor Jeetendra who now produces TV and Films and is the chairman of Balaji Telefilms. Known also as 'Jumping Jack' for his unique dance style, Jeetendra has become a legend and was awarded Filmfare Lifetime Achievement Award in 2003. He was born in Amritsar, Punjab and later moved to bollywood. Jeetendra is now a proud father of Ekta Kapoor (Runs Balaji Telefilms) and Tushaar Kapoor (Actor) - Mythical India
