7 April - Birthday of Pandit Ravi  Shankar aka Robindo Shounkar Chowdhury who belonged to a Bengali family living in Benaras, the spiritual capital of India.  He was the best known Sitar player India ever witnessed. Ravi Skankar worked as composer for All India Radio from 1949 to 1956. He began touring Europe and Americas thereafter and there he met George Harrison, a member of famous Beatles band. His two daughters (in the pic), Anushka Shankar (on the Left) and Norah Jones (on the right) too excelled in Music. While Anushka is a Sitar player and composer of Indian classical music, her half sister is a Jazz artist who made her name by winning several Grammy Awards and selling more than 50 million albums worldwide - Mythical India

Known also as 'Jumping Jack' for his unique dance style, Jeetendra has become a legend and was awarded Filmfare Lifetime Achievement Award in 2003. He was born in Amritsar, Punjab and later moved to bollywood. Jeetendra is now a proud father of Ekta Kapoor (Runs Balaji Telefilms) and Tushaar Kapoor (Actor) - Mythical India

8 April - The day when Bhagat Singh and Batukeshwar Dutt protested against the draconian law (Defence of India Act) which would have granted immense powers in the hands of British police. To grab the attention of world media, the members of Hindustan Socialist Republican Union, hurled bombs in the Central Legislative assembly where the law was being passed. After throwing the bombs in, the duo stood there shouting slogan 'Inquilaab Zindabad' before being arrested. A trial sentenced both to Life Imprisonment in cellular jail at Andaman and Nicobar islands - Mythical India
