24 Feb- Birthday of Jayalalithaa, Chief minister of Tamilnadu and Indian actress. She had also served as Chief Minister of Tamilnadu in the past. Before her entry into politics, she appeared in more than 100 in Tamil, Telugu, and Kannada. She had frequently worked with M. G. Ramachandran (MGR) who introduced her to politics. After death of MGR, she proclaimed herself as the political heir. She is actually the second female chief minister of Tamil Nadu after Janaki Ramachandran.

He created Amar Chitra Katha, which retold traditional Indian folk tales and Indian mythology. He was also instrumental in starting Tinkle.

24 Feb- Battle of Karnal when the army of Nader Shah defeated the forces of Muhammad Shah, the Mughal emperor. It was a decisive victory for Nader Shah who defeated the army of Muhammad Shah in three hours in spite of being numbered 6:1. This allowed the plunder of Delhi to happen unhindered. The war is considered to be one of the crowning jewels in Nader Shah’s military career.
