Birth Anniversary of Shri Mahesh Chandra Nyayratna Bhattacharyya was a well-known Indian scholar and academician. He was a Sanskrit scholar and principal of the Sanskrit College. He was a friend of Shri Ishwar Chandra Vidyasagar where he played a very important role in the Bengal reforms.

Birth Anniversary of Shri Jatindra Mohan Sen Gupta, an Indian revolutionary against the British rule. He was arrested many times by the British police and died in a prison in Ranchi, in 1933. He had joined Indian politics by becoming a member of the Indian National Congress. Eventually, he had given up his legal practice for his political commitments.
